It was her wedding scheduled today, the 27th March 2020. Due to covid 19 lock down, the wedding is postponed but no idea to when as people are not clear how long we will have to keep ourselves away from social gatherings. Like wise many events that include weddings, house warming ceremonies, business expos, international conferences were all with held. During lock down none of us were allowed to move out of home.

Why am i writing about the diamond ring now, that girl and her wedding alone i remembered, there were few other weddings to which i was invited and got cancelled but this one was special because i remember her engagement eve.

Three months back when i visited my hometown, myself and my mom went to Shruti's house, she is my mother's friend's daughter. Nextday was her engagement and she was preparing for it. Her mother called her and told her to get that diamond ring to show me. She went to her bedroom and brought a golden coloured pouch.

There were two boxes, inside which contained the rings to be exchanged between the bride and groom on their engagement. Ring exchange is the main function for which they had bought two diamond rings from an old jewellry in our hometown. The jewellry was too old and my mom asked why from there, new jewelleries were opened in town. They smiled and she gave me one of the boxes in my hand with a cute gesture of a to be bride.

I opened the box to see a beautiful light inside which gave the diamond inside the box extra glittering and i said "aha...superb, What an idea". She said, for this reason they visited that particular jewellry. This word of mouth spread like anything and just for an led light matter diamond rings for auspicious occassions were purchased from that jewellery.

That was a wonderful sales strategy, i thought. How could a low value product added mileage to a high value product. Sometimes a decision of spending a negligible amount to sell a premium product works out if that is innovative enough to attract a customer.

I just remembered this instance today which made me write this as my blog post for the day.
