A goal without a plan remains just a wish. A plan of action, also known as a campaign, is a well-thought-out sequence of steps or activities that must be executed for a strategy to succeed.
A sound action plan includes three major elements:
Specific Tasks—What exactly needs to be done?
Time Horizon—When must each activity be completed?
Resource Allocation—Who and what are required to carry it out?

In the Ramayana, Sita’s abduction by Ravana is a prime example of a meticulously executed plan. Taking Sita away while both Rama and Lakshmana were present seemed impossible. However, Ravana’s scheme was cleverly crafted and dramatically sequenced with the help of Maricha.
Disguised as a golden deer, Maricha lured Rama away, and then Ravana approached in the form of a sage, making the abduction of Sita possible. Every move reaching Panchavati, the method of distraction, and the mode of escape was planned.
Ravana understood that Sita was deeply protected and thus crafted an ideal situation for his plan to work. This shows that drawing up a good plan of action is one of the hardest yet most critical functions of management.
To plan well:
Define the goal
Break it down into tasks
Ensure each task is linked with purpose
Allocate time and resources effectively
