When you're caught in a situation of moral conflict, the best strategy is often to accommodate, not out of weakness, but out of wisdom and long-term perspective.
This is exactly what King Dasaratha did when Sage Viswamithra approached him with a request to send young Rama to protect his Yagna from the Rakshasas (demons).

Dasaratha was initially unwilling, torn by fatherly affection and moral doubt. How could he send his adolescent son into danger? Instead, he offered to send his own army.
But Sage Vasishta, the royal preceptor, advised Dasaratha that Viswamithra would not only train Rama in divine weaponry, but also gift him knowledge that would shape his future battles and dharmic journey. Dasaratha, though emotionally conflicted, accommodated the wisdom of his mentors and made the right decision and sent Rama with Viswamithra.
When facing a moral conflict with someone more experienced or knowledgeable just pause listen. understand and accommodate.
It’s not always about standing firm; sometimes growth lies in letting go of one’s initial resistance and embracing a wiser path.
