Strategic Alliance is an arrangement between two parties or companies that have decided to share resources or capabilities to undertake a specific, mutually beneficial project.
In Ramayana, it was Kabandha, the demon, who advised Sri Rama to meet Sugriva. He informed Rama that Sugriva was facing trouble and was in need of help. Kabandha suggested that if Rama helped him to overcome his problem, he would do the needful in return.
Upon meeting Sugriva, he reported to Rama about his brother Bali, who was now his enemy, and the tale about the abduction of his wife. A ghastly fight ensued in which Bali depleted Sugriva’s strength by the boon and Indra’s chest plate, and thus he was in need of Rama’s help.

Only Rama would be able to help him. Rama shot his arrow, which hit Bali’s chest, and the great, mighty, and unassailable Bali was brought down to the ground.
In return, when Rama was in need, Sugriva informed him that all the Vanara armies on earth were coming to confront Ravana. Rama was able to achieve his goal because of the availability and support of the biggest army of Vanaras and their commitment throughout the project.
A strategic alliance thus results in fulfilling the wishes of both parties in a mutually beneficial way.
