If you are looking for a job or looking for change of job and is in the process of sending applications to companies please remember to ensure the below. The 8 golden rules:

1. When you send your Resume to companies, check if the file is saved in your full name. Never send it with the file name as Resume. If you do not have time to change one file name how to do expect the person at receiving end to change many if them. This is for easy retrieval. Never save it with following file names, this will spoil the first impression say (Resume New, Resume(1), Resume Foreign, Resume Revised, Resume Updated, Resume converted - auto save of conversion to pdf online.
2. Inside the file, mention your current location and specify the places where you prefer to work or is willing for a shift. Just keeping a phone number and email id will not help the recruiter to screen it.
3. Always make sure it is updated up to your last employment, never forward an old resume for application purpose and say during interview that your present status is not updated in the file.
4. Always mention against your experience detail, how many years you worked in each firm apart from the period (from and to) date.
5. When you are called for an online meet, to take a prelim interview, ensure that you are in a formal attire, no matter from where you are attending it.
6. Make sure you are in a place that has good internet connectivity, check if your voice, video etc. are working properly prior to the session by connecting with a family member or a friend if possible.
7. Have the courtesy to inform the recruiter if you will not be able to attend the interview at scheduled date and time due to unavoidable reasons. Communicating that you will not be able to attend will be considered when compared to not attending the call.
8. If you are not used to online mode of interviews before, do a trial at least 3 times with friends or family and then appear before the panel.
